recycle
Galaxy is the ONLY IT specialised recycling company able to offer a complete WEEE compliant disposal option on ALL redundant IT hardware.

New legislation and directives governing the disposal of electrical equipment are currently being implemented across the UK and whilst not law in the Channel Islands it is generally seen on the corporate front as good practice to comply with the legislation. These laws aim to reduce the amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) going to landfill. In the UK they carry harsh penalties for non-compliance with this directive.

As an IT recycling and asset management Specialist, galaxyci.com allows companies to realise the true value of the assets they have for disposal. By focusing on gaining maximum levels of re-use we also allow companies to meet the new regulations and at the same time balance social responsibility and cost. Galaxy offers a total data destruction policy on any equipment collected under one of our recycling agreements and removal of any identifying tags from all working machines.

What is WEEE?

recycle

WEEE is the European Union Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

This directive was approved by The European Union on the 8th November 2002. The directive states companies must no longer simply dispose of obsolete, redundant and surplus electrical equipment in landfill.

The Directive aims to reduce the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment and to improve the environmental performance of all those involved in the life cycle of electrical and electronic equipment.
If no action is taken to follow these directives it may have an adverse effect on our economy and environmental aspects.

If you would like further information on our recycling plan please call Stuart to discuss how it would affect all IT users here in the Channel Islands.

Our recycling services are only available to business users in Guernsey and Jersey and not currently to home users.
